Stacy Moore, CEO
To summarize Stacy’s story, here’s all you need to know: she would never write it herself. The last thing she would do is call attention to herself, taking attention away from those who need it more. So we’ll tell her story. At its heart, a story about others. Others in need, in pain, and looking for a better way.
Stacy Moore’s journey to healing began as a journey. Life and circumstances found her on a base in remote Alaska, as a Coast Guard helicopter mechanic. Among her duties was accompanying rescue missions, bringing the injured and ill back to safety. It was both demanding and gratifying, answering dire need with expertise and compassion.
When Stacy returned home to Maine, she returned with a calling: caring for others. She completed her CNA (Certified Nursing Assistant) and CRMA (Certified Residential Medication Aide) training and began a career. But along the path of becoming a traditional home caregiver, she took an untraditional turn.
Wanting to give a higher level of natural relief and wellness for the people she cared for, Stacy began taking classes in medicinal cannabis and on the endocannabinoid system. One of her patients, Beth, had urgent needs. In her early 50’s, Beth had suffered a serious stroke, leaving her with paralysis on one side of her body, requiring Stacy’s help to loosen her muscles enough to move.
Stacy created her first product: a cannabis infused salve. Almost immediately, Beth felt a tingling in her arms, a sign that her circulation was increasing. Over time, it allowed her to do what she had thought impossible: move her affected side on her own again.
On seeing this, Stacy quickly shifted her focus to legal hemp and its most beneficial and prevalent cannabinoid — CBD — realizing that without the legal restrictions she could help many more people. She started making her own Hemp-based products, offering them to friends in need, and getting invaluable feedback in return. The results spoke for themselves. Or rather, users spoke for themselves — with stories of re-enablement and improved quality of life. Many had used other CBD-rich products, and many reported that Stacy’s worked for them when others hadn’t.
For Stacy, it was a caregiver’s dream come true. From lifting one person’s life, she could see a path forward to caring for and helping so many more — in ways at once both seemingly small and life altering. She discovered that for people in pain, everyday activities like signing your name or working in the garden feel immensely satisfying when they’re returned — especially through natural and organic products.
Several years in the making, incorporating ever more personal feedback from so many users, Healing Harbors, Stacy’s heartfelt dream, is here for you now in many forms. And so of course is Stacy, when you want to reach out.
Ashley Lenz, COO
When you meet Ashley, the first thing you’ll notice is her Southern accent. She’ll tell you herself that she’s actually a “Valley Girl” who moved to Georgia from Southern California as a kid — but she never really felt at home on either Coast until she sunk her roots deep into the Coast of Maine. She may be “from away”, but we can tell you this — she’s got the heart of a true Mainer.
Ashley is a hardworking, loyal person who cares deeply about the well-being, happiness, and health of her neighbors. She’s extremely committed to serving her community and helping others, even if just in small, little ways.
With this mindset, her background, and their complementary skill sets, it’s no wonder that Ashley and Stacy make the perfect team to head up Healing Harbors.
Ashley graduated from the University of Georgia with a B.F.A in Graphic Design, but her love of creative problem-solving quickly shifted her away from design towards a career in Atlanta’s marketing sector. While working as the Marketing Director for a startup business that grew to a 16M company in three short years, Ashley gained invaluable experience and skills, but she also struggled to find meaning and purpose behind her work. And every time she would ask her higher ups and colleagues “Why do we need to exist in the world? How are we truly helping people? Does our work actually matter?” they would remind her how much money everyone was poised to make. It didn’t sit right with her soul.
At the same time, Ashley was also helping care for her father, a brilliant mathematician who was lost to Alzheimer’s. Over a long and painful goodbye, it became clear to Ashley that she wanted to honor her father’s legacy by continuing to care for others. Her only regret is that she didn’t have an opportunity to offer a more natural approach with her father and his caretaking team, because at that time in her life she didn’t know it was an option.
That’s partly why it is so important to Healing Harbors to educate and empower you, so that you know your options and understand how critically important quality of life can be for you, your loved ones, and your pets when pain and illness interrupt daily living.
After Ashley’s father passed away, she moved to Maine and started making the transition to becoming an entrepreneur, and a mom. But she was still flying back to Atlanta every few weeks to check in with her team (with a baby in tow!) and something needed to change. She formed Higher Ground Marketing, a digital marketing agency with clients all over the country. But as much as she loved working on other people’s businesses, she was determined to launch a brand that would bring something that she cared deeply about to life…she wanted to help people improve their quality of life with simple, natural products…and it needed to happen in Maine, because Ashley wanted to be an integral part of her community.
As fate would have it, Ashley soon met Stacy through a mutual friend, just as Stacy started gaining traction with Healing Harbors. The products needed “finesse”, but at their core they were working extremely well. And Stacy was listening to her customers’ feedback and making smart changes, while working with good, clean ingredients. Ashley knew that she had finally found what she was looking for, and that she could make a big impact on Healing Harbors with her background and skills. So now, together, they develop, create and distribute some of Maine’s most highly regarded CBD personal care and pet products. And when she’s not at work, Ashley and her young daughter Evie explore all of the beautiful forests, beaches, and farmland that Maine has to offer.
